Why Go Big Always vs Jive Talks?

Up until now, I’ve been blogging on JiveTalks. But a corporate blog is just that– a corporate blog. I wanted to have a place where I could more freely voice wider observations and thoughts beyond Social Productivity and Jive’s business. That said, I imagine some of the posts I make here will cross-post on Jive Talks. But as I’ve blogged at Jive (on both our internal Clearspace instance and our corporate blog), I’ve realized that I had more to say and that I didn’t have place for those wider observations.

I named the blog “Go Big Always” because it’s a belief that strongly reflects my approach to my professional and personal life. It’s a reminder about the need to take risk, about how important it is to be visible about our passions and what’s meaningful for us. I think of it as a filter. A way to check-in with ourselves and our actions. Are we going for it and if not, why? Perhaps we don’t believe, we’re scared or we just don’t know how. Either way, it’s a good gut check. Go Big Always is also the name of my internal blog at Jive Software. Ironic, as not too long ago I couldn’t understand why someone would blog inside of a company. Guess I’m past that, now.
