I wouldn’t normally admit this to many people but the assumption that I am going to make is that the people who are reading this blog are facing their own variations of a similar problem (which is ironic considering the subject of the post). I have always been an Entreprenuer but at the same time a relative outcast, someone who never quite fit in with the typical mold. I have always had to believe in myself and seemingly pull myself up each time I fell down. Of course there have been supporters, but I in firm agreement with the last post that it is HARDWORK that makes or breaks those who have the audacity to identify with grand ideas.

It can only be my guess where the road in life will take me, but what I can do is continue to search for me community. Sometimes finding others on the same journey as I am. And in their company I am reminded that, despite having moved away from the herd and becoming isolated, we brave few are connected in mission and purpose.

Amazing post! You’ve got me pumped.

Choosing your own path and ignoring critics is important, but there is one more important ingredient. HARD WORK!

Many people dream of being the innovative, creative entrepreneur but they don’t show up to do the work.

Imagine something weird and strange, but then lock yourself in your office and work endless hours until everyone is using it and it is not so unique anymore.

Great post my friend, and so true. Here’s one of the entrepreneur’s paradoxes: the more you get hit and are aware of everything that can get in your way, the more you should feel held back by fear. But in fact it’s the opposite – otherwise there wouldn’t be so many serial entrepreneurs. Perhaps feeling the breath from the predator running after you makes you run faster than the rest of the herd. Keep running. Here’s a tip: if you take every pseudo catastrophic challenge as a new learning opportunity you had always been waiting for and that was still missing from your book, it makes everything much more fun.

seriously. there are people who feel safe in the crowd. those people never innovate and really don’t have a say with people who do. …then there are those that break out on a path with no road map and only your gut feeling to follow. you are one of those people and that’s why i am a fangirl.

Bravo for not letting the naysayers get you down, Sam (not that I expected you would). Although Blackbox Republic isn’t my personal cup of tea, I admire your efforts to break some new ground. What a boring world this would be if no one was willing to go against conformity.
